Aunt Pam

There is a chandelier that hangs above our kitchen table. It has three full bulbs that emit a beautiful light. It’s different than most chandeliers its not extravagant, not boring but unique – but more than that it means so much to me now.

My Aunt passed away on Friday. It seems surreal as it was just yesterday I talked to her. She bought me that chandelier. We thought it was “so cool” and “so unique.” She was so excited to get it for me and couldn’t wait to help me pick it out. Every time I flick that switch and sit at my kitchen table I remember her. I look up at the Chandelier and the light it emits and remember all the wonderful light she emitted in her life.

My Aunt was the most gracious and caring person. She adored her family. I remember numerous times her telling me how gorgeous my brother and I were. To her, her family WERE the most good looking and precious people in the world. How often do we think something nice about someone in our heads but never say it? That was not her. She always made sure to tell us how proud she was of each one of us. She never pointed out our faults –ever but always told each of us how special we were to her.

My Aunt would do anything for anyone. She braided my hair over and over and over until her hands hurt and she couldn’t braid anymore. She cooked us our favorite meal every night if that’s what we wanted for dinner, and she taught my brother and I to play Poker, we loved spending time with her.

Thank you Aunt Pam. Thank you for your love and support. I miss you. We all miss you. Your light will forever live on. We will hold you in our hearts forever. I love you.

30 Weeks down and 10 to go!

I know, I know. I am the WORST blogger ever. I mean who waits 6 months before they update their blog, oh yeah I do. Well as you can see from the picture pretty soon we will have another new addition to our family. Here I am at about 29 weeks. I always said when I hit 30 weeks I'd celebrate. I can't believe I only have 10 weeks left until we meet our little boy, oh yeah...for those of you who don't know we are having a boy!!



There are so many weird crazy things that amaze me about pregnancy.

1. The Morning Sickness went away for me I hit week 12 and it was gone, Thank Goodness! My back hardly hurts, I can count 3 days where it killed but the doctor is amazed that being on my feet all day hasn't killed my back.

2. Your body changes in so many ways but I've been so lucky to wear my "normal" clothes up about until two weeks ago, I know I was really lucky. I just really miss running.

3. Everytime someone sees me they comment on "how small I am." What? I feel like an elephant? Small? But I guess in comparrison to other's perceptions, I am small for being as far a long as I am. The doctor says I am measuring right on target so that is great! Working on your feet for 8 hours a day during pregnancy is not recommended you may not gain adequate weight and then you'll have to take nasty vitamin suppliments. So far, I should have gained about 15 pounds and I'm at about 7.

4. I finally let girls at my store do A LOT more for me. I think they are sick of it, but I'm so thankful for them because bending over is not pleasant. Lifting is restricted and they are just so sweet to always grab me the exact food I'm craving. Poor girls have been to seven eleven probably more times than they can count, can't help it I love those slurpees!

5. I can't wait to fit into all the cute jeans we have in. Don't worry though I've bought two cute styles in a bigger size and rubberband them, my girls are DETERMINED to make sure I'm not frumpy and pregnant and I must say they have kept me pretty cute throughout the whole pregnancy!! I'll take more pictures of the cute outfits they have put together for me.

6. Marie Calendars Frozen Turkey Dinner, Yummy only 350 Calories and 10 grams of fat good for a frozen lunch/dinner, I live on them. Lol.





Now a bit more info about the baby.



Joe and I have decided to name him Tymon. Prononced (Ty men)

It's Greek. We will call him Ty for short. In Greek it means honor, or warrior whichever "name dictionary" you are looking it up in. We love it! I've found many bargains on a dresser, rocking chair and other great things for his room that we HAVEN'T even started working on yet!!! I'm getting a bit stressed about working my last few weeks and getting everything done but that is what I do.

Our New Addition

Say hello to Daisy! After much begging and pleading with my Husband he FINALLY agreed I could get a cat. On President's Day after work I went with my Mom to the Humane Society. I looked through all the cages not really seeing any cats that caught my eye. I wanted a orange tabby because this is the breed all my other cats have been. Joe wanted a kitty just like Daisy. I looked again through all the cages and with a sad face told my mom, "I can't believe I'm not seeing one." I started to walk back to my car when the Lady at the Humane Society told me to look in the bottom cages, "these cats are the first to be put to sleep." Great I thought did I have sucker written on my forehead?

Then I saw her peering through the cage. I picked her up and she nuzzled me. She immediately started purring. It was a match made in Heaven, sort of. I didn't want a dark kitty I wanted an orange one and not to mention I especially did not want a girl cat! But within five minutes I knew I had to take her home. Okay, "She's the one Mom, let's go." My mom looking a little surprised carried her to the counter.

She has been the best kitty...so far. Okay so she's had her moments. For instance she is SPOILED beyond belief. She sleeps under the sheets on Joe's side. Don't mess with her space next to Joe or she will claw you in the legs, true story! She has a knack for knocking anything over that is upright and she is an attention hog. Her favorite things to knock over are cups of water, flowers, her water bowl anything upright will not be for long. And surprisingly I thought I was buying a cat for myself, nope she's Joe's 100%. Daddy's little girl. He took her over and she loves it!

He cuddles with her more than he does with me! He is always holding her while doing homework and playing with her constantly. She is such a great addition to our house. We call her our Clearance Kitty she was only $15.00 wow! I can't believe how lonely I would be without her she's great. Not to mention isn't she cute?

50 Random Things

I typed this up on facebook and thought I'd post on my blog for those of you that don't have facebook.

25 random goals, habits and things about me from Facebook. I went to 50 on my blog just for fun.

1. I am a sensitive person. I love to help other people and make sure those around me are okay.

2. I love the OLD UTAH JAZZ. I know your mouth just dropped. I loved the Stockton to Malone days when it wasn’t all about fame and money. I am still a fan.

3. I have never been beaten in a game of monopoly during one of the monopoly club meetings.

I have all of my children’s names picked out assuming I only have girls.

I kissed my husband in 9th grade behind my neighbor’s shed during a game of kick the can. Following that we didn’t talk for three years and ended up getting married a year or so later.

I can be feisty especially when someone rubs me the wrong way. Just ask the manager at Action Plumbing and Air. You better believe I got my money refunded.

7. I am an expert when it comes to jeans for your body type. Believe me I’ve seen over 300 people try on jeans.

8. My favorite food, at the moment is BLT sandwiches. My favorite beverage is Coke, I’ve tried to give it up many times but it just never works but hey I’m to two cans a week.

9. I want to have a little girl with blonde blonde blonde hair!

10. I love cats and dogs. But I’ll pass on frogs, snakes, lizards, hamsters, rats and gerbils.

11. I have enough clothes to fill every closet in my house two times over.

12. I love being Greek and I loved my maiden name.

13. I regret in high school I never tried out for the basketball team.

14. I love my sister in laws to pieces.

15. People always think I am at least five years younger than I really am. I have been asked if I am eighteen, nineteen or twenty more times than I can count. My little brother looks older than me. My favorite line is, “well can I talk to your manager.”

16. I like to spend money but I am killer at keeping within budget. I am a bargain shopper.

17. I love owning my own home.

18. My heroes are my grandparents.

19. I love to read and can read a book in no time. I just never make time for it. Latest read was Marley and Me. Amazing.

20. I am excited about our current president. Don’t worry Joe and I debated for months on end. We didn’t change each other’s point of view.

21. My employees and husband’s nickname for me is “Hippie.” Because I recycle everything, like earth tones and flowered patterns.

22. I love to go on cruises. Next up Alaska. Other than that I don’t like to travel.

23. I love to vacuum. I own about four of them. My latest a hot pink one.

24. I used to like country music now I can’t stand it and can’t stay off of 97.1

25. I have two bachelor’s degrees in the most diverse subjects ever and loved earning both of them.

26. I am fascinated by sociology fashion and nutrition.

27. I have 15 cans of spices in my cupboard I have never opened and have no idea what I would ever cook to use them.

28. I used to think I was more like my Mom but everday I realize I am becoming more like my dad.

29. I love my subaru and I loved my acura.

30. I don’t really idolize celebrity’s or have a favorite. Just basketball players.

31. I love to play soccer and like to think I used to be good at it.

32. My favorite holiday is the fourth of july. I have never liked Halloween.

33. I like to play poker. Just Not for Money. Mainly because I loose every time. I can’t keep a straight face.

Reflections of 2008

Wow! What a year. I think most of you will even be in more shock that I actually updated my blog. Please post a comment for me I'd love to hear from you and read your blogs!

What an exciting year. So many great things have happened and perhaps I did not reach all my new year's resolutions I did reach many of them. I think of how hard the economy is right now how many people have lost their jobs, homes and much more and as I reflect on this past year I am so thankful for what I have.

I am thankful for my job. I love it. I'm thankful for the promotion I was able to receive in May and that I have a job that I do something that I love everyday, for the people I work with and for the people I meet. It truly is something I'm very proud that I accomplished in 2008! By the way come visit me our spring clothing line rocks!

Secondly, Joe and I bought a house! We are so excited so much time and energy was put into this and while we only looked for about two months it took us two years of saving to be able to afford this huge expenditure. It will be a nice place to call home. I'm so excited to paint, decorate, furnish, carpet etc. Not to mention we will be having two new members of our family join our little house. (Not babies...just furry kittens -- Joe is estactic!)

Other Exciting Events of 2008:

We celebrated our second wedding anniversary.

We went to the first game of the new real stadium!!!!! It was freezing but so fun.

We completed a 26 mile bike tour and a triathlon.

Joe went to Lake Powell Twice and I made it once!

Joe completed his second to last semester of school.

We went to our first Nascar track and ate dinner in King Arthur's Court

We tasted 16 different flavors of soda from around the world.
We spent the fourth of July by Kim and I running in a 5k, swimming and watching fireworks.
We found our new favorite restaurant House of Kabob, Which then closed two months later.
We learned many new things about each other such as: I became an extremely picky eater and Joe out of no where decides he hates peanut butter and meatloaf. (random.)
We went on our second cruise to Ensenada with our friends.
We sat in the third row at the Jazz game and I sat next to the former President of the Jazz.

This year has brought many incredible things. I can’t wait for 2009!

2009 goal to be a more consistent blogger…no promises though.

Murray Triathlon

I will post more pictures when we get them, this is the only one I have!

We did it! Yeah! I am so excited to say I finally finished my first triathlon here are some highlights!

I finished the swimming without drowning that is such an accomplishment a special thanks to Shauntel and JP for giving me all of those lessons at Lake Powell you won't believe how much it helped me I just counted my strokes and I finally made it. Thanks Tanner for carrying me shoes and warmup pants and thanks to all my cute sister in laws Steph, Kim, Whit and Court for coming to support us! Thanks Steph for bringing your camera cause I forgot to check my battery before hand can you e-mail me the pictures?

Joe wasn't feeling well at all (or was it the face his wife beat him j/k) at any rate his finished the race.

We both placed in our divisions! Yeah!

While riding during the bike portion and their was a Murray officer that I knew from my good old days at cadets, he loves to make fun of me and when I passed him on vine street he said, "Jamie my Grandma rides faster than that." However, he wasn't right cause I never saw a Grandma pass me.

After Daddy Cheney took the family to Village Inn and it was a great time. Not to mention there was someone watching over us that race day because less than five minutes after we finished a downpour of hard hail hit and it hurt like crazy!!

I can't wait to do my next week hopefully I can advance from the beginner distance, I really need a training partner, Joe has said triathlons are not his thing any takers?

Happy Anniversary!

I cannot believe that it has been two years it is so crazy to me! Joe knows that I am not really big on getting presents on Christmas, but I love Valentines and our Anniversary so I was hoping he'd make this one extra special. I thought I was being extremly creative and expensive when I bought him the deadliest catch seasons 1-4 on DVD. I don't think he's liked it to much because he hasn't even opened it. However, I think the true reason is that he has been too busy playing with my anniversary present.

Make sure your sound is on for this video and remember it is like 12 a.m. and I'm screaming and Joe is telling me to shut up or our new neighbors will hate us, but I can't help it I was so excited!
